ACCTS Newsletter June 2022

“This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.” - 1 John 1:5

Dear friends and partners,

As you may know, the mid-year giving campaign is well underway. We hope you will take a few minutes to watch the short videos that share the vision of ACCTS and the powerful stories of transformation. The campaign will be running until July 8th.

Earlier this month, Ruba fell while riding her bike and broke her pelvic bone. We are grateful her injury did not require surgery. Ruba is in good spirits, but the recovery will take some more time before she’s back to 100%. Thank you for remembering Ruba in your prayers as she heals.

Nouara Round 2

At the end of May and the beginning of June, AWT hosted the second round of Nouara training in 2022. This time, we had four groups and a total of 33 participants. It was a joy to see women grow in their walk with the Lord and make life-changing decisions. Here’s what some women had to say:

“I always asked God to help me change. The response to this prayer came when I saw the Nouara training advertisement and registered for it. It influenced me, and with this training, I can say that it was the best thing that happened this year.”

“I decided to commit to reading the Bible with thirst, and not as a duty or because I have a Bible lesson to deliver.”

“I discovered that reading the Bible is easier and more enjoyable than I imagined. I learned to examine my thoughts and beliefs and name and understand my feelings.”

“I was surprised by how many treasures are in a small Bible passage. I want to continue studying the Bible in this way.”

Walk Thru the Bible

On June 11 and 18, AWT hosted a Walk Thru the Bible workshop covering the Old and New Testament. Twenty-five women attended the first workshop, and twenty-four women participated in the second one. In this interactive workshop, women grew in their knowledge of the whole chronological story of the Bible. One participant noted that she’s only read the Old Testament once. After this workshop, she now understands more and has a clearer picture of the Bible.

We hoped this training would impact the women and those around them, and that’s exactly what happened. One woman commented how this workshop moved her 12-year-old daughter, and other participants mentioned their desire to have specialized training for children.

15 Years of Serving the Lord

At ACCTS, we collaborate with several people who are impacting the Arab world. While attending a recent conference in Europe, Ruba Abbassi connected with one of AWT’s long-time friend from North Africa. Please watch the above video to hear about her journey with AWT.

Lunch and Learn

ACCTS held its second Lunch and Learn event on Monday, June 13th, featuring Mr. David Rihani, President of the Jordan Evangelical Council. He and Dr. Nabeeh Abbassi led a discussion on Evangelicals in Jordan. It was encouraging to hear about the rich history of Evangelicals here, dating back to the 1920s. Mr. Rihani himself is the son of the first Evangelical pastor in Jordan. If you would like to listen to the recording, please email us at acts.awt@gmail.com to request access.
