ACCTS October 2021 Newsletter

Harvest

Warm Greetings from the ACCTS family in Jordan,

Our dear family and friends,

The month of October has been busy and blessed! We've witnessed a significant impact on our youth and women. We enjoyed seeing them equipped, and many came thirsty to learn and develop their lives. What added value is having them come from different backgrounds and denominations! True richness comes out of variety.

Below you can read the exciting work we are doing; we covet your prayers and highly appreciate your partnership.

Yours for the Kingdom

Nabeeh & Ruba Abbassi

The youth program is expanding - Robust Social Media

When our youth become committed and deep-rooted as good Christian citizens, our country succeeds. After a journey of four years with our first group of young men and women, we now believe that there is no limit for the young citizens to be empowered, equipped, and developed as future leaders. Thus, we started a new journey with 60 young men and women from different Christian denominations during two events in September and October.

These two events were eye-opening for them to start thinking differently about their roles in their country based on the obedience of authority's principle in Romans 13: 1-7. We led our youth to the right resources from which they can take their knowledge in a world of chaos and doubt, filled with delusions and manipulative, malicious lies where nobody can stand apart from the word of God.

Their feedback was phenomenally encouraging us to continue. The youth showed high interest in the program, learning about their role in the community and the importance of political participation as Christian citizens.

Some of their encouraging words:

"It was a nice conference. Although its goal is patriotic, I took something spiritual in my soul. I took a new decision with God after a good period of being far from him."

"Such a beautiful conference! I'm not from an evangelical background and thought it was purely patriotic, so I didn't mingle well at first. However, I later enjoyed it and would like to volunteer with you."

"This conference has been a good opportunity to be educated on political issues that we're not used to listening about in churches. Especially that most of our information is rumors from unreliable sources."

"Useful topics and the speakers' style was special. They provided practical content, not only indoctrination; it kept me away from boredom."

Our fans on social media have reached (1000) fans since launching. However, our strategy implementing optimizing tools, creating infographics, posts, and valuable, creative material resulted in a tangible increase in interaction. We were gladly sharing with you the numbers of active interactions on our new youth portals:

The Youth Initiative filmed and shared many videos to strengthen, inspire, and motivate one hundred youth through the previous months. Videos covered different topics and angles to help those young people restore their relationship with God after almost two years of abnormal circumstances, encouraging them to trust God in whatever they face.

Our life-growth journey program is still going on powerfully!

It's the third round this year, and we're still having a fourth successive month. Women are lining up, and some are on the waiting list to attend our life-growth program. We're grateful that we're able to meet the needs of the women and reach diversities. Women are experiencing a thrilling journey of self-awareness, discovery, maturity, fulfillment, and renewal in mind, heart, body, and soul for healthier characters. They're arming themselves with skills and tools to reach their goals. We're witnessing the significant change and the meaningful fulfillment they are experiencing in their lives due to the training, follow-up, and counseling one-on-one sessions.

Thirty-five women from Egypt, Iraq, Tunisia, and Jordan are actively joining the sessions. A woman opened her house for nine other young women from her church to attend the training and expand the influence; what a blessing to see the impact grow!

"The topic of spiritual illness has opened my eyes to many of my spiritual weaknesses and their causes, and I will begin to recover and pay attention."

"I have experienced a unique peace in my marital relationship because I have adopted new ideas to improve my relationship with my husband."

A grieving mom making a difference

Raya is a believer. Her young husband passed away two years ago, leaving her with four children. She participated with the Arab woman today in several pieces of training, such as the Bible study group and leadership training. Still, for the first time, she has contacted anyone for advice. When she started with us the journey of dealing with her pain, she said, "It's a blessing from our Lord that there are people who can hear me." She began to learn how to sit with herself and dig deeper. Raya is a generous giver, but she started to experience hardships in her relationships, although she believed she was good in confrontation.

Raya worries about her children's future, as she is the only breadwinner after the death of her young husband. She wants to raise them in obedience to God and wants them to be successful in their lives. We're walking this journey with Raya gradually to help her face her challenges, each at a time. Major shifts started to take place in her life; people began to wonder about the reason for the apparent change taking place in her life, asking her, "What has changed in you? What happened to you?"

Raya went further to influence another girl in need of support. She gladly shared with us that she began to feel the change in that young woman's life. Her words brought joy to us, "I invited her outside as you have taken me, and I began the journey with her. I found myself serving her life as you served mine. Thank you for what you have sown in me so that I can sow it in others!"

Breast Cancer Month

Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, we launched a social media campaign to raise awareness about the impact of breast cancer, sending a message of hope and healing through the word of God.
