Dear
Family and Friends,
This is the season where we are reminded of the work
of salvation when our Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose
again on the third day. This is the message that we try to deliver
to all people in our region that “Christ died for sins once and for all, a good man
on behalf of sinners, in order to lead you to God. He was put to
death physically, but made alive spiritually.” (1 Peter 3:18)
May the
Lord open the hearts and eyes of the people to see the truth and
accept it freely.
Despite
our busy life, finding the time to make a difference is our core
call as a family and ministry. We hope you’ll be blessed as you
scroll down our news for March and find more inspiring stories. We
want to encourage you to continue praying and supporting our
ministry. God is at work and doing wonderful work in the hearts of
people. Sometimes we cannot talk about the inner change, we just
witness it. It is indeed His transformational touch!
On behalf
of ACCTS team and us, we wish you a Happy Easter … Christ is Risen.
Nabeeh and
Ruba Abbassi

A True Image or a
Stereotype?
In
appreciation of potential, brave women around the world and on the
occasion of the International Women's Day, AWT has given a workshop
on “Stereotypical images of women” at Princess Alia University
College.
The light was shed on the current beliefs and limitations hindering
women by the society, in an attempt to transform such perceptions
and be change agents.
College girls felt that their voices were heard and their hidden
fears, frustrations, and uncertainties were validated.

Roles Clarified
It has been a thrilling experience that has met the need of a group
of young church women leaders. For whom AWT conducted a workshop
stressing on the necessity of renewing our mind, and submitting to
God's original plan for women. And how this truth should be
reflected on our attitudes, self-perceptions and roles as women in
church and community.

From assault to life
A family
is back on track
A cry from Egypt has reached AWT Social Media page saying, “My
sister is with two daughters: Eight and four years of age. We
discovered that their father raped them and forced them to some
humiliating sexual practices.
My sister went to the police, but consequently was beaten, robbed
and threatened to be killed to force her to drop the case! My
sister is so weary and doesn’t know where to go for help and
protection. Can you give counsel?”
We were able to provide the needed support through an Egyptian beneficiary
of our ministry who helped follow-up on this critical issue. The
family has been receiving specialized psychiatric treatment. And by
the grace of God and the continuous encouragement, the family of
three is now living a secure life away from danger.
Mother shared, “I plead with
God to bless your work of love. You are angels who came to the
rescue!”

If I would
have stayed in Syria, I would have had four children now; when I am
still 18 years old!
“I refused to marry early and insisted on completing my studies,
despite the challenges. Now I am waiting to register at a
university. I gained strength because of the awareness workshop I
attended with my mother. It has brought about change in our lives. It
helped us realize the danger of early marriage, and my right to
education.”

A Syrian
refugee beneficiary of Handcrafts Program at Irbid Cultural Center
(ICC)
“Thank
you for giving me this opportunity to feel that I am a productive
person. I discovered that I have the ability to innovate and
manufacture straw and accessories; which was beyond my
expectations. Now I am able to sell my products to help, at least,
generate my personal expenses. The most wonderful thing is that
people like my products!”
