Irbid, Jordan (ACCTS-AWT) - ACCTS Irbid community center celebrates the graduation of twelve Syrian refugees and vulnerable Jordanians after having completed the course which started on January 16th and ended on March 8th. During the time they spent at the center, they learned how to work in groups as a team and how to be patient since they have dealt with tiny pieces. While they were working, they enjoyed their times joking, laughing and building new relationships.

This program focuses on training beneficiaries on how to manufacture handicrafts; such as the formation of beads accessories and natural straw art. Such arts are then used in the manufacture of shapes and multi-functional dishes by a specialized trainer in this field. This training aims to provide the trainees with basic skills in the handicraft industry. In order to enable them economically and socially, because of the difficult economy.

At the end of the celebration and with profound gratitude, women received their gifts and certificates having gained a new vision for a better future.

Itab is one of the ladies who joined the program, she said, "With great joy I discovered that I have the ability to innovate and manufacture straw and accessories which was beyond my expectations. Besides, I feel so happy while working with such items. Now I am also able to sell my products to help me, at least, generate my personal expenses. The most wonderful thing is that people like the stuff that I make. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to ACCTS for giving me this opportunity to feel that I am a productive person. And that I am able to build myself in both practical and psychological terms."
