Women trainees from the different Arab nations participate in the different sessions and activities of this training program addressing the theme Pulse; Heart of the Leader.
As it can be deduced from the theme Heart of a leader, the sessions are very much focused on the inner person, spiritual life of a leader, a woman leader. It transpires from the heartfelt and thought provoking daily devotions offered through the mornings of the training, to the sessions where women go on a journey of self-analysis through the exploration of the characteristics of some influential women in the Bible. And more on a general basis, the characteristics crucial for leaders to have are discussed, such as; integrity; discipline; boldness; focus and the most important ones humility and love. For being in leadership is to serve.
This program also highlights the importance of taking care of oneself; feeding one’s mind, heart and soul to be an effective leader. One cannot give if one does not have. Moreover, the conference tackles points on setting visions and goals and how crucial it is for a leader to know his/her purpose. Through this training leaders learn, or at the very least are reminded of, what it takes to see growth and success.
Not to mention that this program gives the attendees the opportunity to have some training on how to be effective trainers themselves, as many of them are leaders involved in some sort of training, and how to be professional in doing so. The workshops are conducted by some professional trainers in the field. Some practical skills are presented through the training, too, such as presentation and the use of PowerPoint, the dos and don’ts. Along with some game sessions and/or sketches to explore the different types of trainers and trainees and how to deal with each one of them in a healthy way, and also to encourage the work of the team reinforcing the concept that leaders need to be alert; pay attention to the surrounding field of work and workers and therefore benefit from the learned knowledge.
Our trainers are normally friends or partners to the ministry from various countries, such as America, the Netherlands, Sweden and Canada.
Every day the ladies are encouraged to write down, based on what they have learned the things they will change in their lives. At the end of the conference, women write down an action plan with strategies and steps to see those changes occur in their lives.
Women may also have the chance to go off site visiting some momunents or touristic attractions to enjoy a networking experience of tea and snacks fellowship.
We are continually uplifted by the women who attend this conference year by year, and the zeal they have for their home communities. Many were greatly moved by the sessions we host and we are grateful for their partnership with us. Through it, we are able to provide new material to women already in positions of leadership and help them on their journey.
A new planned strategy of follow-up has been implemented to hold Networkers accountable after having themselves worked out their own strategic plan, touching the area/areas that need urgent change in their lives.
AWT desires to see those precious women reaping the fruit of change and therefore impacting their families, and eventually their society.
