Irbid, Amman (ACCTS-AWT) - ACCTS Irbid Community Center in Husn celebrated the graduation of the second group of fourteen ladies, who joined the soap making training from March 5th until April 25th.

It was an emotional moment, some of the ladies started crying before leaving the center after receiving their certificates and lovely gifts. They expressed their sincere gratitude toward the center, where they were empowered with new skills. In addition, the way the staff showered them with their love deeply impacted them.

Here is the story of Khawla, a sixty-two year old woman who joined the soap making training at the center. She was committed and active during the training period. On the last day of the course, and before leaving, she started to cry when she received her lovely gift. When she was asked about the reason of her sadness, she said, "Eight years ago, I lost my beloved husband. Since that time, my life has been changed. I became sad and lonely even though I live with my seven sons. For eight years, my social life has stopped. Two months ago, one of my neighbors told me about the Community Center. I went there and registered to join the soap making training. One day, I was surprised to receive a call from the center telling me that I am accepted in the program in spite of my age. I rejoiced because of the good news. From the moment I entered the center, the staff gave me hope by the way they welcomed and respected all of us. I was able to go out of my house again, meet people, and build friendships. They helped me get rid of my sorrow and despair."

She also added, ''This is my story, and this is the reason why tears rolled off my face. I wish I can have more courses in order to keep coming to the center. However, the staff encouraged us to keep coming at any time."
