Mother's Day

ACCTS Irbid community center (ICC) celebrated mother's day at the center inspite of the sadness of most Syrian mothers as a result of the Syrian crisis.

Irbid, Jordan (ACCTS-AWT) – ICC believes that mothers deserve appreciation for the support and strength they have provided to their families in particular, and for the society in general.

There are dozens of stories to remember on this day. Many children have lost their moms, and so many moms lost their children.

The children had their own way to honor their moms and showered them with love by putting crowns on their heads with a phrase “I love you mom". They have also dedicated a mother's song for them. During that time, candles were lit symbolizing moms’ sacrifice for the sake of their children.

After that, each child gave his/her mom flowers of love with a card that has a special phrase related to the occasion. It was a sensational moment that was full of tears running down spontaneously on the cheeks of the attendees.

Then we all together enjoyed tasting different kinds of sweets prepared by the ICC staff and the children’s mothers. And by the end of the celebration, moms expressed their profound gratitude to the center saying, "Thank you for remembering us in such an occasion which has left a great impact on us, and lifted our spirits."
