19 -20 March 2017
Tunis, Tunisia (ACCTS-AWT) - ACCTS hosted a discipleship training workshop for Tunisian men and women leaders in their local churches. Amidst the group of 26, there were 15 women and 11 men from different regions of Tunisia. This two day event was spent disciplining the group in many areas of Christian faith.
During the workshop, we addressed key Christian topics with an interactive presentation. The material we used highlighted the importance of rest, renewal, and morning devotions. Furthermore, we explained how to train and prepare from within a spiritual topic, what biblical stewardship means, and how to study pieces of scripture with practical applications. The attendees were greatly encouraged by the teaching they received.
One participant said, “These lessons have made a difference in me. It will help me with the lessons I give in our newly created programs for Sunday school, youth meetings and discipleship. We wish we had more time to dig deeper into this rich material!”
Moreover, the women were very collaborative in taking time to sit and seek counselling from the team during and after the sessions. They expressed a need for enhanced communication skills amongst believers in the Tunisian church and were taught methods of setting clear objectives for ministry based on Biblical teachings. Meanwhile, the men expressed the need for topics related to marriage and how to raise children within biblical manner. Many were eager for more to lean to quench their thirst for further knowledge of the word. Nonetheless, we were extremely happy to have given educational lectures on the fundamentals of Christian behavior and biblical knowledge.
We hope to carry on work in Tunisia to deliver more in depth knowledge and material in our programs, and we are overjoyed to have supplied the attendees with many pieces of biblical truths during the training workshop.
