Discipleship training in Aqaba
AWT gave a training event on the topic of integrity and personal character for the women in Aqaba
24-25 February 2017
Aqaba, Jordan – The AWT team hosted a discipleship training tackling important topics concerning personal character. We partnered with Mawiyah Halasa as a guest speaker and Basma Gammoh as a supportive speaker at the event. 24 women attended the training and were intellectually challenged to apply the lessons they learnt in their daily life.
The training helped women pursue integrity and adopt a holistic walk that can be followed in every aspect of their lives. The concept of integrity was approached to them within biblical principles whereby the role of the mind and conscience were highlighted as key affecting factors. Moreover, the topic of influence and leadership was also mentioned and the women were encouraged to implement soul and spiritual care in their lives.
“I was lifeless: You should have seen how pale I looked before I came in. I now have the desire to change my look and garment because my spirit has been lifted up. Do not forget us; we are spiritually hungry. Come to us again, or we can come to you.” Nadia Hijazeen- participant.
After the event, each attendee received a set of three Bible counseling books from the author June Hunt. These books were carefully chosen to aid these people when they go back to their regular lives after the training. We realize the importance of raising women’s awareness as it is through it that women share tips, encourage one another, and support healthy decisions. This has been found to be truly beneficial for both the trainees and their families back home.
