18 May 2013

Amman, Jordan (ACCTS-AWT) – In May 2013, the Arab Center for Consulting and Training Services - AWT launched the first stage of its Leadership Discipleship Program, entitled Nouara which means Blossom. The Discipleship Program has been designed for the purpose of equipping potential Christian women church leaders, targeting the women in small towns far away from Amman, those who suffer from lack of training and discipleship.

This program helps them attain a higher level in many areas. The program takes fourteen women from seven different governorates of Jordan in a journey that starts from the inside out, in a span of two years divided into five stages.

On the 17th and the 18th May, 2013, the 1st part of the program took place. It aimed to help the women find out what has shaped them to become who they are now. They knew their value and learned about self-esteem, and how to assess and emotionally communicate the impact of their upbringing. Moreover, were given the chance to express their emotions.

“I felt comfortable and liberated to share my heart in the open in an atmosphere of freedom and security.”- a participant

Layal is one participant whose life changed as a result of the training. She dug deep into herself, her marriage was strengthened, gained victory over some tough circumstances she lived through, and she was inspired with a vision for the future.

A convenient environment is provided for women to talk

about themselves and share about their past experiences

This Leadership program Nouara aims to equip potential Christian women leaders in small towns far away from Amman, those who are either untrained but already occupy leading positions in churches, or ones who show potential to take active roles in churches but lack the needed competencies.

IDENTIFY… ADOPT… CHANGE… IMPACT

It is how we achieve our goals in helping women IDENTIFY their personal, spiritual and social needs, encourage them to ADOPT the truth about themselves, lead them to pursue CHANGE in their lives, and motivate them to IMPACT others and be a voice for change in the society.
