Amman, Jordan (ACCTS/AWT) - We are halfway through in our campaign, titled "Break the Silence," which aims to raise the awareness of sexually abused girls and urge them to break their silence. We want to see violated women obtaining a full recovery that qualifies them for a bright, productive future without buried frustrations.
A Jordanian newspaper titled "Al Ghad" wrote about the campaign, and a local radio station Radio Al-Balad 92.5 FM station interviewed us to share about it. Click here to watch the interview.
Find below the link for the article published on 15 February 2020 in the newspaper.
We have been receiving a good response on all our social media platforms, and women started to come to us and open up from Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan. It has also reached the Arab States of the Gulf, thanks to AWT ambassadors.
We have counselors and specialists to follow up on a limited number of cases that we can afford freely; however, if the number surpasses our capacity, we shall refer them to specialized clinics at their expense. Our social media person is following up many cases and referring cases to our free counseling specialists up to this date, and many others are on the way.
The campaign started on 25 January and shall continue until 19 March, providing all needed material on the topic, whether through articles, short videos, audios, social media posts besides follow up and counseling. Ending the campaign does not mean, of course, stopping the follow-up of the abused women.
We are excited about what the Lord is doing through this campaign and trusting his wisdom and support. We want to see women healed and obtaining a full recovery that qualifies them for a bright, productive future without buried frustrations.
You can follow the campaign on the woman department's social media platforms. Sorry, all material is in Arabic; still, you can catch a glimpse.
