Irbid, Amman (ACCTS-AWT) - Early childhood is the most critical phase of human development. It offers the greatest opportunities for positive human development, but is also a period when children are the most vulnerable. Negative influences on a child's development during early childhood can be irreversible.

Our role as parents is not only to help our children develop mentally and emotionally, but also help them gain self-confidence and self-worth. We should help them with life skills and build their self-esteem.

Being aware of the above facts, Irbid community center conducted a psycho-social support workshop for ladies on how to instill confidence and self-esteem in their children.

The objectives of the workshop were to expose them to the basic needs of a child, the concept of self-confidence, the symptoms and the reason behind lack of it. And also to equip them with tools to distinguish the different developmental characteristics of childhood stages. The participants also discussed different practical ideas to instill self-confidence and self-esteem in their children.

We believe the workshop opened the ladies’ eyes on their mother-children relationships, and hope that we will influence their communities by sharing their knowledge.
