Five Love Languages, Confrontation and Conflict Resolution

Five Love Languages, Confrontation and Conflict Resolution

AWT conducted three Jordanian Women Workshops for Jordanian women. This sought to build bridges through dialogue. We opened the floor and discussed the hardships of daily life with the aim of breaking the destructive social barriers that overshadow women.

April - June 2013

Amman, Jordan (ACCTS - AWT) — In the first session, women were encouraged to recognize their own love language and discover how it affects the loved ones around them. As the women delved deeper, they learnt how to apply their love language more effectively back home. Much of the time, the women were unaware of the differences of how each individual receives and gives love. Thus, many women left the session with a greater understanding of their intimate relations, and how love differs from person to person.

In our second workshop, the topic of confrontation was addressed. By means of core Christian values, we encouraged our women to learn how to confront others. However, we also focused on how to face confrontation and how to emotionally build after receiving it.

We find this to be essential as it helps women to develop healthier and more successful relationships.

Our third workshop was directed by Mrs. Cynthia Madanat, a friend of AWT. She introduced the basic techniques of resolving conflicts of all levels so that the different areas of conflict were brought to light. Moreover, the women were equipped with the practical steps of how to achieve conflict resolution.

“Wow, I cannot believe how things changed with my kids and my husband! As a result of joining these workshops with AWT, I could easily implement most of the life skills they presented as a new strategy in my family relationships. I can now understand myself and my family better.” — One participant stated.
