ACCTS Newsletter April 2022

“He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.” - Matthew 28:6

Dear friends and partners,

It is easy for Muslim nations to celebrate Christmas since they believe in Christ as a prophet. The challenge is if they could acknowledge the celebration of Easter. The short answer to that is no. With Easter, they are faced with the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The disciples encountered an empty tomb on the first Easter over 2000 years ago. How can the world face the empty tomb today? That’s why we are here to share the truth of the resurrected Lord and Savior.

Christ is risen. He is risen indeed!

Sincerely,

Nabeeh and Ruba Abbassi

Feedback from Nouara

As part of the mission of AWT, we help guide women in identifying their personal, spiritual, and social needs. Our Nouara training is designed to assist women in doing that very thing. In last month’s Nouara training, women identified areas of their life where they wanted or needed change, whether in mind, heart, or body. Several women decided to drink more water, exercise, and eat healthier. In addition to that, they are taking steps towards healthier relationships, establishing boundaries, and recognizing their God-given value. Spiritually speaking, many women benefited from the Bible study component. Several have chosen to read the Bible regularly, start serving in their churches, and be more aware of wrong teachings. With your support for our life-growth program, we can help women make these changes that will have a tremendous spiritual impact on their lives and those around them. Thank you for being a part of this change through your prayers and partnership.

Training of Trainers (ToT)

On April 9, sixteen women from eleven different churches in Jordan participated in AWT’s Training of Trainers. This five-session training comes under our Serving in Christ program and is designed for women seeking to grow as trainers so they can lead Bible study groups in an interactive, engaging way. This training covered the inductive Bible study method based on observation, interpretation, and application. Now, these women will be able to apply what they learned in their local church or group Bible study context. We are excited to see the fruit from this and look forward to sharing more details with you.
