February 2022

Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you. So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name I will lift up my hands.” Psalm 63:3-4

The ACCTS team is working diligently to plan for this year's programs and modify them based on the Covid situation and the team's capacity.

AWT launched a Scripture challenge support group to encourage women to memorize up to 52 verses of Scripture in 2022. We presented this challenge to women on our Facebook page for Christians.

We are almost done developing a new Arabic website, and we anticipate launching it by mid-March. This resource will work as an interactive platform for Arab women to learn and grow.

We’re planning our first round of Nouara for the month of March. This training is geared to help women in our “Growing in Christ” persona, which includes women seeking to develop themselves and achieve fulfilling lives in Christ. These women want to deepen their relationship with God, strengthen their ministries, and desire to study the Bible effectively. This training focuses on growth for the mind, heart, and soul. It teaches them how to set boundaries and adopt better habits. It also includes an inductive Bible study. One potential beneficiary will lead some sessions and support in follow-up and counseling. We are proud of the fruit that this program brings and the eternal impact it makes in women’s lives.

On January 29, we held an inductive Bible study on the identity of Christ. From a small survey we conducted, 67% of women responded that they had never heard a Bible study or teaching on their identity in Christ. These inductive Bible studies fall under our Comprehensive Christian Women Growth program. This method of studying Scripture provides women with three tools to help them answer the questions of who, where, and what. It equips them to move from observation to interpretation to application. AWT plans to host more inductive Bible studies throughout the year.

We’re preparing to build a prayer network and plan to have a dedicated day of prayer for ACCTS programs and beneficiaries, including a special prayer event in May. Be on the lookout for more news and an invitation to join this network of people in prayer.

This February, Dr. Nabeeh taught 30 Latin Americans from Panama, Peru, Bolivia, Colombia, and Venezuela a course about Islam and the Islamic worldview. This training, known as Manarah Latino, was held in Panama and equipped Latin Americans to live in a Muslim context and engage their Muslim neighbors.

ACCTS and Facts

Four-fifths of all Jordanians live in urban areas.

The capital of Jordan, Amman, was once named Philadelphia after Ptolemy Philadelphus (283-246 BC) who rebuilt the city during his reign.

A bit of encouragement

Here is some recent feedback from one lady who connected with us through social media.

“My journey with Arab Women Today started three years ago, during which I received wonderful training that became tangible and real. Now, whenever I feel like I’ve lost my energy, I know how to handle the situation better to overcome laziness and weakness. They have seen me in all my attitudes: happy, successful, engaged, and also when I was lazy, upset, and out of focus and energy. I’ve never heard a bad word from the team. They were always supportive, and they were always by my side in words and action.

I learned the meaning of creativity, innovation, support, and sensibility. It made me feel like I belonged to their vision, and it ignited the desire inside me to be part of it. I was able to convey the message I adopted to others. I started sharing the benefits of what I learned. I’m sharing my success with AWT because they have become my home, a special place, and a part of me and my growth.”

We greatly appreciate your prayers for the Lord's leading as we continue the work he has given us to do. Your prayers and support make these life-changing programs possible.

Sincerely,

Nabeeh and Ruba Abbassi
