A
Regional Campaign on Sexual
Abuse
The
Arab Woman Department at ACCTS is
launching a campaign targeting
young, sexually abused women. The
campaign seeks to help the woman
break her silence and encourage her
to decide to confront her war with
abuse as an essential first step in
the healing journey. We want to
stand behind her and sympathize with
her pain by offering the love and
acceptance she deserves.

We
are showing two videos every week,
and during the remainder of the
week, we are posting valuable,
helpful materials and posts on our
Facebook pages and on our website
that get in more depth; clarifying
the content of the videos and the
path of the healing
journey.
The
campaign begins on January 25 and
ends on March 19, 2020. It includes
12 short videos filmed with a
specialist, providing a simple
explanation of the confused feelings
of the abused girl, and their impact
on her. The videos elaborate on the
importance of facing the pain and
emphasize the value of the woman.
Then we give her some practical
guidance to start the journey of
change and recovery.

Donation
At
this New Year 2020, I
encourage you to
consider where God would
have you to invest in
the work he is doing. We
also invite you to
consider how your giving
can make a kingdom
impact. By God's grace
and generosity, we can
continue
serving.
You
can choose to support an
abused woman to receive
counseling. A gift of
any amount helps cover
part of the cost of one
counseling session with
a professional
counselor. Your gift can
make a difference in the
life of a woman on her
way to
healing.
We
rely on your generosity
to meet our deficit
of $68,000.

Ruba
on Al Jazeera TV
network
It
was a privilege for Ruba to be
interviewed by the most viewed news
satellite channel in the Arab
World Al
Jazeera TV
Network. The new
TV series for women is focusing on
educating Arab Women worldwide on
significant issues that are facing
them today and presenting different
views of women on each
topic.
The
topic that Ruba shared her view
alongside women from Morocco,
Lebanon, and Iraq, was facing aging
and midlife crises. Ruba challenged
women to look for their passion
buried inside their hearts and minds
and seek to bring it to life. One of
the things that she has a passion
for is to ride the bicycle by age
50.
This
passion began a journey of cycling,
leading Ruba being able to compete
in bike rides in at least three
different countries. Ruba was able
to encourage women in her age group
that they can pursue dreams and have
the physical energy and stamina
needed to do so. This interview is
in Arabic, but the full interview is
available below.

Coming
soon
ACCTS
leadership and
management approved a
new approach to
advancing the economic
empowerment through
technology. AWT is
starting a new small
group training in
Northern Jordan teaching
young women ages 18-35
how to discover the need
of the market in their
community. The training
helps them start their
innovation journey and
become fully involved in
the economic sector. The
expectation is that our
pilot starts around
mid-March in partnership
with DOT Jordan and
other
stakeholders.

Serving
the Refugees and
Preschool Children
at the
Center
Through
the generosity extended
through the BLESS
"Light the
World" event, ACCTS
Community Center was
privileged to host not
one, not two, but four
Christmas parties in the
days leading up to
December 25. The women
who attended have come
to the Center from
various places of
difficulty.
Nevertheless, the
majority have had their
lives torn apart through
the conflicts and danger
in their homelands.
Those who came already
participate in classes
offered by the Community
Center, so the workers
and volunteers already
have begun the process
of building meaningful
relationships with
them.
Several
women wanted to have
their picture taken with
Santa beside the
Christmas decorations.
Although they do not
celebrate Christmas in
their religion, they
loved the festive lights
and decorations and
sensed that this was
indeed an exceptional
time.
