New Cooperation for Women’s Welfare

ACCTS participated in an event organized by The Jordanian National Commission for Women (JNCW) to discuss the policies which will be taken concerning women’s economic empowerment.

5th of February 2018

Amman, Jordan (ACCTS/AWT) - ACCTS attended the launching of the policies paper for women's economic empowerment, held at Landmark Hotel. A session conducted by the Cooperative Organizations under the patronage of the Jordanian Minister of Labor Ali Al-Ghazzawi, with the support of the Ministry of Labor and the Swiss Embassy.

The meeting was a time to listen to the new policies paper, discuss it, interact and suggest improvements. A word of encouragement was presented by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. The Swiss ambassador in Jordan, Mr. Hans Peter Linz was there and spoke about partnerships with the Cooperative Organizations.

The event was attended by members of the groups mentioned above, plus three staff from ACCTS who will have the responsibility to follow up with the partners. It was encouraging to us, as ACCTS, to meet with new Sister Organizations and listen to their experience in the field. We are hoping to collaborate with some of them, for our upcoming event, a campaign that ACCTS will be holding entitled “Your strength comes from hers”, with the aim to emphasize the importance of women supporting each other, a vital first step toward equality between men and women.
