English for a Better Life

ACCTS Community Center at AlHusn has celebrated the graduation of the ladies who joined the fifth English course, gathering women from Jordanian and Syrian backgrounds.

19th of December 2017

AlHusn, Jordan (ACCTS) - The Center has launched an English course that started on the 6th of September 2017, and ended on the 19th December 2017, attended by fourteen women from Jordanian and Syrian backgrounds.

The Center is deeply aware of the fact that Learning English is crucial nowadays as it is one of, if not the main language, globally speaking. People all over the world study it. Some countries have it mandatory as a second language in their school syllabuses, thus exposing the population to the language at a young age. It is the language of science, aviation, computers, diplomacy, and tourism, etc.

Knowing English increases your chances of getting a good job in companies within your home country or finding work abroad. But on a more practical level, it is the language of the Internet. Many websites are written in English - without knowledge of the language it’s hard to take part in forums and discussions.

For the above reasons and to respond to beneficiaries needs, the Center has started the fifth English course for mixed groups of Jordanian and Syrian women.

The beneficiaries felt more confident after joining the course. They have also mentioned that spending time in the class has given them opportunities not only to learn, but also to have fun together.

The celebration took place at the trainer's house opposite to the center, in order to create emotionally warm relationships between beneficiaries and the people working at the center.

All graduates expressed their happiness for being part of the program and the center’s atmosphere during 2017, and for having the celebration in such a cozy place.
