The Most Important Emotional Needs

Out partners *Scottsdale Bible Church gave a lecture highlighting the top three emotional needs for fifty Syrian and Jordanian women.

Al- Husn, Jordan - This November we were graced with the presence of Scottsdale Bible Church as part of their ‘Vision’ trip. Our partners gave a lecture for fifty Syrian and Jordanian women at the Cultural Center in Al-Husn. The talk focused on the top three emotional needs; the need to feel competence, significance, and love.

Henry David Thoreau said, “Our lives are frittered away by details. Simplify, simplify, simplify.”

We believe this statement holds particular truth when it comes to the three emotional needs. As we become more meticulous, we are amounted by complexities whom fuel negative emotions attacking ones self. Therefore, it is necessary to remain conscious of our basic needs and assure they are attended. This will help manage our actions and adapt to growth and change as needed.

During this lecture, we found this theory resonated with many women. They began to identify key solutions for problems occurring as by products of emotional needs not being met. Similarly, this helped simplify the stresses they had and encouraged a more conscious mindset to be adopted.

*Scottsdale Bible Church is a a non-denominational Christian church in Scottsdale, AZ. They offer multiple worship services and work in a wide variety of areas that help create a community of Christ-followers marked by unwavering faith and unconditional love. We were blessed to be able to partner with them and work amongst the women of Jordan.
