First Cohort of Trained Women

First Cohort of Discipled Women

ACCTS-AWT celebrates the graduation of eleven women who have walked the Discipleship journey for two years.

26 April 2015

Amman, Jordan (ACCTS-AWT) – On the 24th & the 25th August 9, 2016, the last phase of the Nouara Leadership Program took place at ACCTS headquarters, Al Rabieh, Amman. The first fruit cohort of trained women graduated, which encouraged us to proceed with equipping qualified women to serve the community, and gave us hope for a bright future.

Two practical and interactive workshops of leadership skills were conducted by Speaker and lecturer Hassam Fakhoury. The material was adapted from Walk thru the Bible Ministries Materials; Secrets of The Vine and The Vision of the Leader.

Women were challenged to be productive parts

Women were challenged to measure fruitfulness in their lives. Ways to more fruitfulness were discussed, and hindrances were exposed. In addition, they were taught how to discover their spiritual gifts, pinpoint their visions, put down their goals, make an action plan and set priorities, besides learning the importance of Teamwork.

Other topics were tackled; such as Components of the Vision, Key Principles of Leadership management, and Smart Goals.

This event witnesses a certified graduation, and forms the fifth and last phase in the Program which is represented by the fruit on the Nouara tree; whereas the visual representation of the Nouara Program is a tree shaped like a female.

A handmade illustration gift inspired by the biblical account in Judges 9 was presented to the ladies, in the form of a tree bearing anonymous fruit. It is intended to be a reminder for the women to fill their trees with fruit according to their talents.

Each trainee has to go through five phases; Personal, Spiritual, Relational, Balanced life, and Leadership skills.

In 2015, we saw the completion of our second year in this journey with our first fruits group of fifteen participants and at the same time started with a new strong-willed group of nine potential young women.

Nouara Discipleship Program (Equipping Potential Leaders) is a two-year and five-phase journey which starts from the inside out.

This program aims to equip potential Christian women church leaders in small towns far away from Amman, those who are either untrained but already occupy leading positions in churches, or ones who show potential to take active roles in church leadership but lack the needed competencies.

As a result of the Discipleship program, we have reaped fruits of change. Lots of them faced their past, forgave their families and decided to move forward, since they recognized the roots for their thoughts, feelings, attitudes and behaviors.

Equipped women shared gaining better understanding of self and healthier relationships with others. Others let go of the past and had hope for their future and the future of their families. Women were assured of their value in the eyes of God, and learned practically how to express themselves the right way.

Positive change is encouraged in their lives through accountability and mentorship, as they are encouraged to study and work on themselves more

We have witnessed prayer lives and marital relationships being restored and improved. Empowered women started to read their Bibles more and grow in their spiritual lives. Some were challenged to examine themselves in order to pursue integrity and holiness in their lives, and some even made changes in family decisions accordingly. And best of all, many shared the materials in their groups and fields of impact.

It’s a high priority on AWT’s agenda to plan follow-up visits

to support women in their own fields of influence
