Christmas Party at the Community Center

Christmas Party at the Community Center

AWT hosted a Christmas party gathering diverse members of the community to celebrate with one another

19 December 2016

The Christmas party was a very unique affair hosted in the Community Center. We were graced by the presence 45 Syrian and Jordanian beneficiaries from both Christian and Muslim backgrounds coming together for the joyous occasion.

The program featured a short sketch by the church team followed by interactive games, sharing stories, giving gifts, and a lunch meal. This opened doors for more positive intercommunal relationships with our guests through sharing experiences by beneficiaries and hearing each others stories.

Overall, it was heart-warming to hear laughter and joy from hurt and vulnerable people. The event itself greatly empowered the attendees and gave them more optimistic view on their lives Moreover, this act of love touched their hearts in a way that they felt there is a thin ray of hope at the end of a dark tunnel.

We would like to extend a special thanks to ZOA, ACCTS and all donors who possess great passion towards those in need. Correspondingly, for enabling an event like this to be made possible and successful for the community. We hope to replicate such events in the future for the benefit of the vulnerable souls in our community.

‘Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas.’ – Calvin Coolidge
